Bachelor Programme
Biomedical Engineering
ASU's BSE in Biomedical Engineering, from the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering, is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. Engineering and life-science courses teach students to turn an idea for a health solution into a working biomedical device prototype, with attention to design, ethics, regulation and teamwork. Students can join research and draw on ASU's growing health and medical-technology links. The major is eligible for the STEM-OPT extension. Students apply to ASU through the ASU application or the Common App, choosing this major in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering.

Adding ASU's 2026-27 Tempe on-campus allowances for housing (US$11,473), food (US$7,346), books (US$1,320), travel (US$1,650), personal costs (US$2,343) and loan fees (US$72) gives a cost of attendance (adding up ASU's published line items) of about US$39,020 (resident), US$63,468 (nonresident) and US$69,979 (international, which also includes the US$400 International Student Fee and US$2,765 of required student health insurance). Barrett, The Honors College adds US$1,100 a semester, and course-specific fees are extra. Students from Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) states may qualify for a reduced nonresident rate of 150% of resident tuition plus fees.
