Bachelor Programme
Computer Science
Edinburgh's four-year BSc Computer Science is taught by the School of Informatics, the largest informatics department in Europe. No prior programming is needed: Years 1 and 2 cover programming, how computer systems represent and process information, software development, data science, and algorithms and data structures, with mathematics and option courses from across the university. In Year 3 students specialise through options such as robotics, computer security, machine learning and computer systems, and Year 4 centres on an individual honours project plus advanced courses. Study abroad in Year 3 is possible. Entry is through UCAS (course code G400).
