History
Edinburgh has one of the largest and most diverse history departments in the UK. Its MA (Hons) History ranges from the early Middle Ages to the present across Britain, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas, and covers political, cultural, social, economic, intellectual, gender and global history. Year 1 surveys the medieval and early modern periods alongside a core skills course, Year 2 widens the geographical and chronological range, Year 3 introduces historical research and specialised electives, and Year 4 includes a year-long special subject and an honours dissertation. Entry is through UCAS (course code V100).
