Bachelor Programme
Mathematics
Edinburgh's BSc Mathematics is based in the James Clerk Maxwell Building at the King's Buildings campus. Years 1 and 2 cover analysis, linear algebra, calculus, probability, statistics and computational mathematics, with outside courses in subjects such as physics, informatics, philosophy or languages; from Year 3 students study only mathematics, choosing from topics such as algebra, topology, differential equations, numerical analysis and operational research. Year 4 includes project-based work, and students can switch to the MMath until the start of Year 4. Some applicants may be eligible to enter directly into Year 2 and finish in three years. Entry is through UCAS (course code G100).
