Bachelor Programme
Mechanical Engineering
Edinburgh's BEng Mechanical Engineering starts with introductory engineering courses and the chance to explore another discipline, then builds the core subjects of fluid mechanics, structural mechanics, dynamics, materials and thermodynamics in Years 2 and 3, together with manufacturing and engineering design. Year 4 offers a wide choice of specialist options, from energy and bioengineering to materials and manufacturing, plus professional development courses. The degree is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and some applicants may be eligible to enter directly into Year 2. Entry is through UCAS (course code H300).
