Bachelor Programme

BSc Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence - MH605

Maynooth's new AI degree (40 places from 2027) pairs a solid computer science core of programming, data structures, algorithms and computer systems with specialist study of machine learning, natural language processing and intelligent systems. First year mirrors MH604, with computer science, mathematics and one other subject. From second year you concentrate on computer science (with 10 credits of mathematics), starting with an introduction to artificial intelligence, and in later years you take computer science and AI only and complete an industrial placement of at least six months. Students work on projects with real-world datasets and modern development tools, and the course builds responsible AI and ethics into the curriculum throughout. Students can move between MH605 and MH604 after first year, depending on results and quotas.

2026-27: the non-EU fee is €18,000 a year, per Maynooth's 2026/27 International Undergraduate Fees List (fees cover one academic year only and rise each year, so September 2027 entrants will pay the 2027-28 rate, which had not been published yet).
