Bachelor Programme
Commerce (Co-op)
Memorial's Bachelor of Commerce (Co-operative) mixes business classes with paid work placements in industry, government and private organizations. After a common Year One Commerce covering business, micro- and macroeconomics, calculus and English, students apply to the co-op degree. It then alternates academic terms with three mandatory work terms and includes professional development seminars (BUSI 300W) to prepare for them. The structured, full-time program normally takes five years and offers study abroad, experiential learning and options to focus your studies. Sample courses include personal and business branding with social media, and organizational behaviour.

The non-refundable application fee is CAD 300 for international applicants and CAD 70 for Canadian citizens and permanent residents, paid by Visa or MasterCard (debit cards are not accepted). Competitive-entry applicants also get a general admission (BA or B.Sc.) application at no extra cost
- Meet MUN's general admission requirements: a recognized high school diploma with university-preparatory courses in English, mathematics, a laboratory science (biology, chemistry or physics), social studies or a modern/classical language, and an elective. Examples are a B average for American-patterned diplomas, 75 for China's Senior Secondary School Certificate, 60% for Indian Class 12 certificates (such as CBSE or ISC), a C4 average for WAEC/NECO and 24 points on the IB Diploma. From Winter 2027, UK-patterned applicants need a B/6 average at IGCSE/O Level plus three AS Levels or two A Levels averaging C. MUN's country pages list the rest
- You can enter the Bachelor of Commerce directly from high school by choosing the Faculty of Business Administration on the application. You must meet general admission requirements and be eligible for Mathematics 1000, 1005, 1090 or 109A/B
- Entry to the co-op degree after Year One Commerce is competitive and limited. You need 10 courses (30 credit hours) with at least a 65% average: BUSI 1000, one of BUSI 2111, 2205 or 2600, ECON 1010 and 1020, MATH 1000 or 1005, six credit hours of English and nine credit hours of non-business electives. If IRCC refuses the study permit, it is refunded minus a CAD 150 fee. MUN then requests the Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) from the NL government, which usually takes 3 to 7 business days after the offer
