Master Programme

Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering

Ohio State's MS in Computer Science and Engineering gives a broad graduate grounding in computing plus room to specialise. Everyone takes a research seminar and three graduate core courses: algorithms, then computability and complexity or programming languages, then computer architecture or advanced operating systems. Students also take applied core courses chosen from databases or data mining, compilers, parallel computing, network programming, machine learning or AI, and rendering or data visualisation, plus electives. Students choose a research track with a thesis (30 credits) or a coursework track (33 credits) ending in a two-semester project or a written comprehensive exam.
