Tuition Information
TMU lists 2026-27 tuition and fees for the full-time program at about CAD 7,400-7,425 a year for Ontario residents, CAD 9,200-9,225 for students from other Canadian provinces and CAD 38,706-38,731 for international students (TMU publishes a range; exact amounts by year are on its tuition and fees by program page). 2027-28 fees are not yet published.
Admission Requirements
- Apply through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC). International students outside Ontario schools can instead use TMU's own international application (CAD 150 fee) if applying only to TMU; international students at Ontario high schools must use OUAC for September entry
- Ontario: OSSD with six Grade 12 U/M courses and an overall average of at least 70%, including these Grade 12 U courses at 70% or higher in each: English (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)
- TMU's published grade range for recent admission to this program: 70-75%
- Other Canadian provinces: equivalent courses from the student's province, as listed on TMU's out-of-province requirements page; prerequisite grades are normally in the 65-75% range
- IB Diploma: grades of 4 or higher in three Higher Level and three Standard Level subjects, including the prerequisites (English), and a total of at least 28 points
- US high school: graduation from an academic Grade 12 program at an accredited school with at least a B overall average and at least B in the prerequisites (Grade 12 English), usually at AP or Grade 12 level. SAT/ACT are not required, but scores should be sent if taken
- Co-op is optional: students apply through their department after their first semester and before the end of first year. The five-year co-op adds about 12 months of paid work experience, with at least three work terms
- Meeting the minimums does not guarantee admission. TMU says the average needed changes each year with the number of applications and spaces, and the program's published grade range reflects averages required in previous years
- English proficiency: no test is needed after four years of full-time high school study in Canada, another English-speaking country on TMU's exempt list or an English-medium school, or with qualifications such as IB English A (HL or SL) at 4 or higher or AP English at 4 or higher. Otherwise TMU's minimum overall scores for this program are CAEL 70, TOEFL iBT 92 (or 4.5 on the scale used for tests from January 21, 2026), IELTS Academic 6.5, Duolingo 120, PTE 60 or Cambridge C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency 180; there are no band minimums. For fall 2027 the test score is due by April 1, 2027
