Bachelor Programme

Anthropology

Anthropology at UBC Vancouver is a four-year Bachelor of Arts major in the comparative study of human societies and cultures, past and present, from First Nations in Canada to peoples of Asia, the Pacific and Latin America. The department's undergraduate program has three streams (socio-cultural anthropology, archaeology and bioarchaeology, and museology and visual anthropology), hands-on learning draws on UBC's Museum of Anthropology, and Honours and co-op are available. This is not a direct-entry program: students are admitted to the Bachelor of Arts and self-declare the Anthropology major once they reach second-year standing.
