Bachelor Programme

Astronomy

Astronomy at UBC Vancouver is a four-year BSc that uses physics and mathematics to study the universe, from stars, black holes and exoplanets to galaxies and cosmology, with courses in computational physics and astronomical measurement. It is offered as a major or as the Combined Honours in Physics and Astronomy, which UBC recommends for graduate study and research careers, and co-op is available. This is not a direct-entry program: students are admitted to the Faculty of Science (BSc) and apply for the Astronomy specialization at the end of first year.
