Bachelor Programme

Biomedical Engineering

Biomedical Engineering at UBC Vancouver is a four-year Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc), offered with the Faculty of Medicine, that tackles problems where human biology and engineering design meet, building the skills to make discoveries and inventions that promote health. In third year students specialize in one of four streams (biomechanics and biomaterials, cellular and molecular bioengineering, biomedical systems and signals, or biomedical informatics), and co-op is available. This is not a direct-entry program: students apply to UBC Engineering and then for the Biomedical Engineering program after first year, and those aiming for it are encouraged to request the limited Pre-Biomedical Engineering first-year timetable.
