Bachelor Programme

Cinema Studies

Cinema Studies at UBC Vancouver is a four-year Bachelor of Arts major from the Department of Theatre and Film covering world cinema, film history and aesthetics, and how film industries and audiences shape what reaches the screen. Majors take CINE 100, 200-level cinema courses and at least 30 upper-level credits including CINE 331 and 445, and Honours and co-op are available. This is not a direct-entry program: students are admitted to the Bachelor of Arts and apply in writing to the major before third year, with admission based on their grades in lower-level cinema courses.
