Bachelor Programme
Combined Major in Science
The Combined Major in Science at UBC Vancouver is a four-year BSc that gives a broad science education across three of five areas: Chemistry; Life Sciences; Earth and Environmental Sciences; Mathematical and Computational Sciences; and Physics and Astronomy. It stresses data handling, communication, labs and field work rather than research training, which suits students heading to professional schools such as medicine, education or law, or into science journalism; co-op is available. This is not a direct-entry program: students are admitted to the Faculty of Science (BSc) and apply for the Combined Major in Science specialization at the end of first year.
