Bachelor Programme
English Language and Literatures
English at UBC Vancouver is a four-year Bachelor of Arts major from the Department of English Language and Literatures, with three emphases: Literature, Language, or Language and Literature. Students study writing in English from medieval riddles to contemporary literature, along with the history, structure and rhetoric of the English language; Honours and co-op are available. This is not a direct-entry program: students are admitted to the Bachelor of Arts and self-declare the major and emphasis once they reach second-year standing.
