Bachelor Programme
First Nations and Indigenous Studies
First Nations and Indigenous Studies at UBC Vancouver is an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts major on the histories, contemporary realities and political concerns of Indigenous peoples in Canada and beyond. Students take core FNIS courses alongside approved courses from other departments and, in fourth year, complete a 6-credit research practicum in partnership with an Indigenous organization; co-op is available. This is not a direct-entry program: students are admitted to the Bachelor of Arts and self-declare the major once they reach second-year standing.
