Bachelor Programme

Kinesiology: Social and Behavioural Sciences

The Social and Behavioural Sciences option of the Bachelor of Kinesiology at UBC Vancouver is a four-year program that studies the psychosocial, historical and cultural sides of sport, physical activity and health behaviour, preparing students for leadership and instructional careers in physical activity and sport. Upper-level courses come from areas such as leadership and pedagogy, psychology of movement and sociocultural studies, and the option also meets the UBC Faculty of Education's admission requirements for students who later want to teach physical education. Students are admitted directly into the Bachelor of Kinesiology from secondary school and specialize in the option in the upper years.
