Bachelor Programme
Mathematics and Economics
Mathematics and Economics at UBC Vancouver is a four-year BSc combined major that pairs a solid base in pure and applied mathematics with economic theory and econometrics, taught by the Department of Mathematics and the Vancouver School of Economics. Students take courses such as intermediate microeconomics, probability and empirical economics, co-op is available, and a BA version of the combined major is offered through the Faculty of Arts. This is not a direct-entry program: students are admitted to the Faculty of Science (BSc), apply for the Mathematics major after first year, and then apply to the Vancouver School of Economics near the end of second year.
