Bachelor Programme

Medieval and Renaissance Studies

Medieval Studies at UBC Vancouver, listed in the Academic Calendar as the Major in Global Medieval and Early Modern Studies, is an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts major on societies from about 500 to 1800 CE across Africa, East Asia, Europe, the Middle East and South and Southeast Asia. Students combine courses from departments such as history, art history, English, Asian studies and music, and co-op is available. This is not a direct-entry program: students are admitted to the Bachelor of Arts and self-declare the major once they reach second-year standing.
