Bachelor Programme

Midwifery

The Bachelor of Midwifery at UBC Vancouver is a four-year program from the Faculty of Medicine that prepares students to become registered midwives, providing primary care through pregnancy, birth and the first months after birth. It combines the humanities and social and biomedical sciences with extensive clinical experience, with cohorts in Vancouver, Fraser Health (Surrey) and Vancouver Island (Victoria) and an option for students outside the Lower Mainland to do most of year one from their home community. Only about 20 students are admitted each year, applicants need post-secondary human biology and first-year English, and the program is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents only.
