Bachelor Programme

Pharmaceutical Sciences

The Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UBC Vancouver is a four-year degree from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences that covers the science of drug discovery and development, including pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, formulations, nanomedicine, diagnostics and analytical chemistry. Students choose a course-based option, an experiential option with a one-term research project or industry practicum, or honours with research, and train on lab equipment such as UHPLC mass spectrometry and NMR. It is not a pre-pharmacy or pharmacist-licensing program; students are admitted directly from secondary school into year one (or into year two as transfers) after an interview, with about 80 places.
