Bachelor Programme

Sociology

Sociology at UBC Vancouver is a four-year Bachelor of Arts major on how society shapes human behaviour and how people shape society, covering topics such as inequality, gender and sexuality, race and ethnicity, crime, immigration and families. Majors take research methods, social statistics, classical and contemporary theory and a Canadian society course, and Honours (applied for in third year) and co-op are available. This is not a direct-entry program: students are admitted to the Bachelor of Arts and self-declare the Sociology major once they reach second-year standing.
