Bachelor Programme

Speech Sciences

Speech Sciences at UBC Vancouver is a four-year Bachelor of Arts major administered by the Department of Linguistics, with courses from Linguistics, Psychology and the School of Audiology and Speech Sciences, designed to prepare students for graduate work in speech-language pathology or audiology. Students study research methods, language structure, child language acquisition, anatomy and physiology, experimental psychology and instrumental phonetics, and can gain experience in the School of Audiology and Speech Sciences' research labs; co-op is available. This is not a direct-entry program: students are admitted to the Bachelor of Arts and can declare the major after completing 27 credits.
