Bachelor Programme
United States Studies
United States Studies at UBC Vancouver is an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts major administered by the Department of Political Science, combining political science, history and economics to build an in-depth understanding of the United States and Canada-US relations. Students take ECON 101 and 102, HIST 237 and POLI 220 in the first two years, then 30 upper-level credits including POLI 320A on US government and a research-intensive senior seminar; co-op is available. This is not a direct-entry program: students are admitted to the Bachelor of Arts and self-declare the major, in consultation with a program advisor, once they reach second-year standing.
