Living Costs
There is no national proof-of-funds amount or official living-cost figure. Universities sponsor student residence permits and set their own financial requirements. For example, Qatar University needs a third-party financial sponsor. A sponsor living in Qatar must provide a local bank guarantee of QR 20,000 in the university's favour, and a sponsor abroad must provide 6 months of bank statements.

- Example – Qatar University only: bank guarantee from a sponsor living in Qatar

Student Jobs
No national weekly hour limit for students is published. Jusour, a government-owned manpower company whose board is chaired by the Minister of Labour, runs the Sahem programme. Through it, legal residents studying at a Qatar-based university can find part-time jobs with one employer. Exchange students from universities abroad are not eligible. Sahem also lets recent graduates of Qatar-based institutions aged 18 to 28 extend their residence permit by 1 year while they look for work. The Ministry of Interior issues these extensions.
- Weekly hour cap during term
- Not centrally published
- Part-time jobs (Jusour Sahem programme)
