Tuition Fees
Each university sets its own fees for international students. By law, these fees cannot be lower than the fees private schools of the same level charge local students. Students admitted under education agreements or on Taiwan government scholarships may pay local rates. Universities list their fees in their admission guides.

Living Costs

Student Jobs
International students at registered universities need a work permit from the Ministry of Labor, which they apply for online once per semester. During term they can work up to 20 hours a week. The limit does not apply in winter and summer breaks, but normal labour law hours still apply. Since 1 January 2026, graduates with an associate degree or higher from Taiwan can stay for 2 years after graduating. During that time they can look for work, work part-time, train, intern or start a business without a work permit.
